The Australian brand Duskiiuk makes surf gear and wet wear that although a little pricey, may be worth it so you can live out your Bond Girl dreams.  Their activewear are almost too chic for the water.  They blend function and style with a bit of Aussie sex appeal.  One of a kind and beautifully made, these babies are confidence-boosting thanks to their flattering fit and unique designs.  Our favorite piece at the moment is the Temptation Tank Spring Suit which has a high-waisted belt and slimming side panels.

Fabletics

Giving us more reason to love her, the stylish Kate Hudson has combined her fashion sense with her active lifestyle to help create a line of athletic wear called Fabletics. The brand, which launched in the Fall of 2013, carries sizes to fit most women—including our curvier friends. Love that! The subscription service is perfect for women who prefer getting personalized activewear sent to them each month.

Free People Movement

Because sometimes we want to look hip and fit heading to/from class, we’re loving Free People Movement activewear!  They have managed to combine sporty and Boho chic to create one of the swankiest most affordable athletic wear lines you can find. They’ll have you flaunting your fashion sense at the gym, in your Afro Hip Hop dance or Barre class and anywhere else your days take you.

Lucas Hugh

lucas-hugh-autumn-winter-2014-anjhe-mulesThe fact that Lucas Hugh sportswear was worn in the Hunger Games movie tells you a lot about this London brand and the type of styles they make — sleek, futuristic and ultra-hip!!  You can find them online and in high-end stores like Harrods and Bergdorf Goodman in Europe, Canada, and the US. Each gorgeous piece is made to support and streamline the physique for comfort and ease of movement. Many are made from a tight-weave Polyamide / Lycra mix fabric that gives a mild compression fit (read…built-in Spanx)!

 Nike

Thanks to their R&D and marketing dominance, Nike has been the largest workout brand for a while, and until recently was in desperate need of a refresh. Their recent “Inner Thoughts – Better for It” ad campaign encouraging women to have strong healthy bodies and adding Serena Williams as a spokeswoman, have, however, put them back near the top of the commercial heap. Ever inspiring is the meaning of the name Nike: in Greek mythology, it means the Goddess of Victory. Translation, success not only in war but in all undertakings. That alone just might inspire you to get your “Just do it” spirit on!

prAna

prana_001

The environmentally-friendly brand prAna makes well-designed athletic wear from hemp fiber.  They minimize the toxins and chemicals in their materials and utilize a sustainable textile production process to produce high quality breathable athletic wear that maximizes your workout experience.  They’ve been around for 22 years and as a company, believe that they should give more to the world than they take away.  How cool are these guys!?!

Tully Lou

The Upside

Our favorite item from The Upside activewear line is this polka-dot performance legging.  You can wear it for Pilates, yoga, running, and for running around town.  Throw on a tee-shirt tunic or an asymmetrical top and some white shades and you’re good to go.
